Tagged equipment reports which floor and which department it was last read in, and maintenance and calibration dates attach to the device record itself.

You can see where a device was last read, which shortens search time and reduces the urge to buy a third one of something you already own two of.
Maintenance and calibration
Service dates and calibration history are held per device, with alerts when a due date passes.
Consumables and expiry
Stock levels and expiry dates are tracked, and items closest to expiry are listed to be used first.
Assignment and accountability
Which department holds a piece of equipment is recorded, and transfers are done with a read rather than a form.
