Standard RFID records a passage through a point. In a hospital the question is usually where something is right now, not where it was last seen.

That is what RTLS is for. Ceiling-mounted readers keep updating the position of a tagged asset continuously.

For newborns and patients needing cognitive support, leaving a defined area raises an alert.

Movement data between departments shows where congestion actually builds up.
